08/01/15 - Our Radio Ad

           We started off the day today by playing a game to help us with voice acting. The aim of the game was for everyone to say the same line but in a different way to everyone else. We did this four times with four different lines, the line were: 'Why does Ikea think that they can tell us where to go?', 'Fire the nuclear weapons', 'Lets eat everyone' and 'I didn't mean in kill her'. I tried my best to say each line differently to everyone else and the way I had said the others as well. I said the first one angry, the second like a question, the third really cheerful and the fourth really upset (like crying). I enjoyed this task and it got me excited to start the unit.

           We then got into groups. In my group there was Helen P, Katie S, Caitlin, George and myself. Our task was to create a radio advert for online dating, other groups got a different subject. We decided to name our business 'smooch.com'. Our ad consisted of someone who wants love and then a couple telling their story of how they met through smooch.com. I played the character of the girl's friend who wants love (the second girl to speak). At first I found this quite difficult but once we got into it more I found it a lot easier. I shall post our ad in a separate post.

          

           We all then came together, laid on the floor and closed our eyes so that we could listen properly to the group performing their advert. I think that our performance went really well. We had sound effects which, in my opinion, made our performance better as, to me, it made the piece sound a lot better. I really enjoyed this task and hope that we will be doing more things like this in future lessons.

           Finally we got into different groups and we given a script from The Archers and gave out parts. In my group there is Helen P, Katie S, Caitlin, Sophie, Dotty, George, Calum, Maddie and myself. I am going to be the character Anthea.
